Merry-go-round

We’ve all been there: I had just finished the first draft of this post—feeling like I’d captured some good stuff—and I forgot to save. That was it, the whole thing was gone. Frustrating, but here we are. Round two!

Recently, I received some great feedback: Escape with a Good Book needs more clarity for the end user. I have the entire process mapped out in my head, but I realise I need to get those “how-to" details onto the page. From listing a book to claiming one and getting it in the post—I’m working on making every step nice and clear.

I’ve also been thinking recently about the “brand" imagery. I kept imagining scenes where a hero is mid-escape from some kind of peril, clutching nothing but a book. Literal “escapism." I want to create specific scenes to match our favourite genres—a thriller getaway, a sci-fi extract, or a fantasy flight.

To bring this to life, I’ve added a new carousel to the homepage. It features these “escape" scenes paired with quick links to help you navigate the site’s features. I’m really happy with how it’s looking!

Next on the to-do list? Fleshing out the “how it works" pages so you can spend less time wondering what to do and more time reading.
